Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have flipped another home onto the market. After purchasing a 1915 Montecito, California cottage for $5.4 million back in April, the couple is already ready to give it up. Per Dirt, they’re asking $5.8 million for the 107-year-old three bedroom, three and a half bathroom property.
Although the property is on the smaller side compared to the rest of the DeGeneres-de Rossi real estate portfolio, ringing in at less than a fifth of an acre, three separate structures are squeezed into that space: a 1,900-square-foot home, a guest cottage, and an accessory structure that could be used as a storage space or home office. Visitors are greeted by a cheerful bright red door at the entrance to the u-shaped single-story main house. Inside, updated wall-treatments play well with vaulted ceilings and original crown molding, balancing the contemporary with the historic. Except for the media room with its charcoal black walls and black carpet, most walls are painted in a pleasant feather-gray color with white highlights, perfectly contrasting dark hardwood floors; the galley kitchen’s white cabinetry and speckled-gray granite countertops align with that scheme, too. French glass doors and wide windows let in just enough natural light to brighten the rooms, while wood-burning fireplaces in the living room and primary bedroom add to the home’s overall cozy feel.

Outside, short palm trees and colorful tropical vegetation dot the yard where vintage wooden furniture sits on graveled ground. All of the furniture (which includes a mix of old-world and contemporary pieces), decor items, and art, are included with the sale of the house.
As reported by Dirt, this will be the pair’s eighth real estate transaction for 2022 if it sells before New Year’s. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s most recent transaction was the purchase of the Brown-Sidney house, a Richard Neutra-designed home formerly owned by Tom Ford, which was reported just last week.
